KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- At least 20 trainees graduated the search and rescue proficiency on disaster response and rescue operation, which was facilitated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) last week.
The five-day training helped trainees to undergo different exercises such as water rescue, building rescue, accident rescue and other pressing untoward incidents.
The participants were participated by the PDRRMO staff and MDRRMO Norala since other neighboring municipalities and city have already conducted this training.
Rolly Doane C. Aquino, PDRRMO Operations and Warning Chief, said the office needs equipment and knowledgeable rescuers to strengthen emergency situation.
“Ang main objectives naton sang aton nga training is that our responders and rescuers from the PDRRMO and the MDRRMO will be equipped of the knowledge and ability when, if in case, a tragedy and disaster will happen in the province of South Cotabato, our team will be knowledgeable enough for their response on field.” Aquino said.
He added more new set of batches will be trained specifically on basic life support and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
On the other hand, PDRRMO proposes for a 24-hours rescue service to immediately respond to any forms of disaster and road crash.
The plan is set for three shifts a day. The team is composed of a driver and two responders, needing 9 personnel per day.
