2016 Search for Cleanest & Greenest LGU Update… Evaluators conduct final consolidation of results

The team of evaluators of the 2016 Search for Cleanest and Greenest LGU conducted the consolidation of the final results of the contest on June 17 – 18 at Princess del Leonor Beach Resort, KIamba, Sarangani Province to determine this year’s winners.

Announcement of winners of said annual contest will be made on July 11 during the opening program of the 2016 T’nalak Festival and 50th Foundation Anniversary of the province. .

Prizes at stake are the top six (6) major awards for the Cleanest and Greenest LGU, in which the First Prize winner will receive P8000,000.00, Second Prize – P5000,000.00, Third Prize – P300,000.00, Fourth Prize – P150,000.00, Fifth Prize – P70,000.00 and Sixth Prize – P50,000.00. and consolation prize of P10,000.00 for the remaining LGUs.

Special Awards likewise will be awarded for the Best Public Market (P30,000.00), Best Public Plaza and Parks (P30,000.00), Best Roadside Beautification (P30,000.00), Best Municipal Nursery (P30,000.00), Best Central Material Recovery Facility (P30,000.00 and Best Public Terminal (P30,000.00).
Meanwhile
The Best Barangay special awardees will receive P30,000.00 for the first prize, P20,000.00 for the Second Prize and P10,000.00 for the third prize; Best Community Garden – P20,000.00; Best Backyard Garden – P10,000.00and Best Public Toilets (located in the Market, Public Plaza Parks and Terminal) – P10,000.00.

Organizers of the contest have adopted the “window period” concept for the announced initial and unannounced final evaluations, whereby LGUs will be informed of the schedule of the duration of the contest, but not the exact or specific day of evaluation for each municipality.

The initial and final evaluations of the search have 40 and 60 percentage points, respectively.

Evaluators of this year’s search are Elbe Balucanag of PEMO, Jose Perez of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Engr. Erisaldy Quienes of the Integrated Provincial Health Office, Fruto Sumagaysay Jr. of the Provincial Information Office, Julius Mella of the Arts, Culture, Tourism, Museum and Sports Promotions Unit, Sherree Ann Reyes of the South Cotabato Foundation Inc. and Ginalyn Zamora of Dole Phils.

Belinda Lee Fabie of the DILG Provincial Office acted as the Head Secretariat.
