Three (3) Barangay LGUs in the province were awarded as Best ih Community Garden during the 7th South Cotabato Recyclable Waste Fair held last November 18 at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center, City of Koronadal.
Recipients were Barangay Concepcion in the City of Koronadal, Barangay Liberty of Tampakan and Barangay San Vicente of Sto. Nino. The awardees received P20,000 each cash incentive from sponsor pineapple manufacturing giant Gole Philippines.
The award is part of the Inter-Barangay Clean and Green Contest among he 11 conponent LGUs of the province.
Evaluators of the contest are members of the Clean and Green Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of representatives of PEMO. PPDO, PIO, IPHO, PGO-ACTM, NGO South Cotabato Foundation Inc. and Dole Philippines from the private sector. DILG – South Cotabato is the Contest Secretariat.
Aside from the Best in Community Garden Award, 5 Barangays per LGu ( for a total of 55 Barangays) were awarded as Top 5 Cleanest and Greenest Barangay. The cash incentive for the winners are as follows: First Place – P50,000; Second Place – P35,000; Third Place – P20,000; Fourth Place – P15,000; Fifth Place – P13,400.
