At least 30 fisherfolks from the municipality of Tboli received aqua feeds from the provincial government of South Cotabato through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist early this week.
Provincial Agriculturist Raul Teves said these inputs were composed of starter, grower, and finisher feeds which they can use in their respective fish farms.
The beneficiaries of the said program are those affected by the flash floods and landslides that occurred in May last year.
“These inputs came from the funding support coming from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) 2021-PDRMMF-IP (Prevention and Mitigation-Food Security Development Program).
Municipal Agriculturist Bary Lugan expressed his gratitude to the provincial government for the assistance given to them.
He assured that for this year 2022, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist in their town will give priority to the fisherfolk not only affected by calamities but all of their barangays.
He added that since the operation of their hatchery coming from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is near completion they can provide more quality fingerlings to their fish farmers in their municipality.
