LAKE SEBU, SOUTH COTABATO — “There are 3 success indicators in tourism,” Senior Tourism Operations Officer Argie Ryan Asaria, Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Development and Promotions Unit chief disclosed during the Tourism Stakeholders Meeting held at Lake Lahit Tourism Building here.
Asaria explained that the success indicators are the number of establishments, number of employees and number of tourist arrivals in tourist destinations of the respective LGU in South Cotabato.
“Are the numbers growing (referring to establishments, employees and tourist arrival)?, Asaria asked the question to stakeholders in attendance.
”If the numbers are growing, it means both revenue and job generation, which will eventually lead to poverty alleviation,” Asaria concluded.
In attendance during the Stakeholders Meeting were newly-appointed Municipal Tourism Officer Jennifer Tupas, PhD, Municipal Councilor Judy Loco Artacho, Lake Lahit Barangay Captain Tomas Panerio, engineers from Provincial Engineers Office (PEO) and municipal tourism employees.
Tupas hosted the meeting for the PEO engineers to present the on-going projects in Lake Sebu and to address the different issues and concerns regarding the projects.
