Barangays in South Cotabato enhance capacity to implement anti-drug campaign

Koronadal City—With an ongoing pandemic, barangay anti-drug abuse councils (BADAC) in South Cotabato will continue to intensify their capacities and implement strategies in the chase against illegal drugs at the grassroots level, Department of Interior and Local Government South Cotabato Program Manager Hayd-Ali Suwaib said during the launching of the Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Abuse Council (SICAP-BADAC) training sponsored by the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council of South Cotabato earlier today.

“We will be conducting the series of blended training to follow health protocols while strengthening the institutional capacities of the barangays in the management of anti-drug abuse campaign,” Suwaib stressed out.

The one-day refresher’s training covered discussion about human rights, gender sensitivity, and child-friendly approaches on the performance of BADAC duties.

At least 50 barangay officials from Tupi and Polomolok joined the launching via virtual training and face-to-face discussion.

Barangays were formed into groups to follow the COVID-19 protocol.
