Clean & Green TWG prepares for 2016 annual Search

CITY OF KORONADAL —The Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Search for Cleanest and Greenest LGU met recently at the DILG Provincial Office, this city, to plan out this year’s annual contest.

Siegfred Flaviano, Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) Officer-in-Charge and presiding officer discussed with the TWG members the schedule of the initial and final evaluations, the awarding of winners and revision of the criteria, mechanics and guidelines of the contest.

The TWG decided to schedule the initial evaluation from February 22 to March 9 and the final evaluation on May 23 to June 8.

Likewise, some portions of the contest criteria were decided by the TWG to be revised to further enhance it.

Just like last year, the awarding of winners will be held on the opening program of the 2016 T’nalak Festival, which coincided with the 50th Foundation Anniversary of South Cotabato.

Prior to the contest, an orientation meeting among LGUs is scheduled on January 29.

In attendance during the meeting were TWG members from PEMO, IPHO, PPDO, PIO, ACTS, DILG, South Cotabato Foundation, Inc. and Dole Phils.

Last year’s first place winner is Polomolok, followed by Surallah and Tupi. Barangay Veterans of Surallah was also adjudged as the Best Barangay.
