The Department of Tourism (DOT) is now busy preparing for the forthcoming 28th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) slated from September 1 – 3 this year with its venue located at SMX Halls 1 – 4, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasig City.
DOT 12 Regional Director Nelly Nita Dillera disclosed that PTM, which is organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), will include Business Meetings, Sale ng Bayan and Cultural Events such as Eco-Chorale, Harana ng Kundiman, Patimpalak ng Kasuotang Pilipino, Cultural Dance Competition and the Philippine Quiz Bee Finals.
A Pavilion is now reserved by DOT 12, Dillera likewise confirmed, for the SOCCSKSARGEN or SOX LGUs tourist destinations or attractions. “The pavilion which costs P295,000 will be divided equally among LGUs while the concept, design and execution will be shouldered by DOT SOX,” Dillera added.
SOX is composed of the cities of Cotabato, Kidapawan, Tacurong, Koronadal and General Santos and the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani.
The 3-day daily activity is also divided among the LGUs with DOT 12 and Cotabato City in the morning and General Santos City in the afternoon of September 1; Sultan Kudarat and Tacurong City in the morning and Sarangani in the afternoon of September 2; South Cotabato and Koronadal City in the morning and North Cotabato and Kidapawan City in the afternoon on September 3.
PTM is the biggest and longest running travel and trade exhibition that offers more business opportunities to exhibitors and generate more interest to the visiting public in terms of promotion and marketing tourists destinations.
