Two-thousand seedlings of narra, mosisi and ipil-ipil tree species will be planted at the Integrated Provincial Environment Management Center (IPEMC) located at Tinongkop. Tantangan., Forester Mary Jane Manlisis, chief of PEMO’s Forest and Inland Water Division confirmed.

Seedlings will be provided, Manlisis added, by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resource Office (MENRO) of T’boli which is headed by MENRO Julian Asion.

The IPEMC site was acquired last year and preparations are underway for the construction of a Hospital Waste Treatment Facility in the area.

Aside from being a treatment facility, PEMO also envisions to put up a training center and a demo center to showcase their environment different programs.

It will also construct a warehouse or store room for apprehended illegal logs, mineral ores and other confiscated illegal paraphernalia.

South Cotabato will likewise conduct a province-wide tree-planting on June 25, a day before the Earth Savers tree-planting activity.

City and Municipal LGUs will be enjoined by the provincial government to participate in this annual activity which is led by PEMO.
