First quarter mining, quarry tax collections reach P3.4 million

The mining and quarry tax collections of the province continue to increase for the past three months of the year, in a report submitted by the Provincial Treasurers Office (PTO) to the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO).

 

PEMO Officer-In-Charge Siegfred Flaviano disclosed that, based from the March PTO report, the collection amounted to P 1,278,749.63 and it now totaled P 3,420,901.23 for the first quarter of 2014.

 

The average monthly collection for the months of January and February, Flaviano added, is P 1.07 million only, thus, showing an increasing trend in the mining and quarry collection.

 

With the first quarter collection of more than P3.4 million, the province’s share amounted to P1,660,398.29.

 

The provincial imposition on the mining and quarry tax are Sand and Gravel, Mining Tax, Mining Permit Fee, Ore Transport Fee, Occupational Mining Tax, Verification Fee, Filing Fee, Permit Fee, Processing Fee, Fines/Penalties/Surcharges and Miscellaneous (Delivery Receipts).
