Gov Fuentes leads 2nd Prov’l Dev’t Council meeting

Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes presided over the 2nd Provincial Development Council (PDC) Meeting last April 1 together with other council members as they heard presentations on different development initiatives happening in the province.

Jinky Avance, former Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President and current Provincial Sports and Youth Development Officer, presented to the council the conduct of the 2014 Provincial Summer Youth Camp which will be hosted by the municipality of T’boli from April 21 – 25 this year.

About 500 youth coming from the IPs/Muslim, out-of-school, student leaders, young professionals, and religious organization sectors with ages ranging from 18 to 25 years are expected to attend the 5-day camp, Avance added.

Likewise, modular type of instruction ranging from skills enhancement, values education, among others, will be taught to the delegates, Avance further added.

Meanwhile, Planning Officer Jennifer Bretana presented to the council the Urbanization Trend and Economic Strength of City /Municipalities, with focus on the income, population and current economic activities in each city and municipality in the province.

The accomplishments of the province on the National Greening Program (NGP), a banner environment program under President PNoy’s administration, was likewise reported by Project Development Officer Marites Tanseco.

Tanseco presented to the body the accomplishments of national line agencies DENR, DA, DAR together with OPAg, PEMO, AVLDA and other NGO partners for 2013 as well as on-going NGP programs.

The PDC is presently hearing the presentations of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the lone city and 10 municipalities of the province.
