Koronadal City—After experiencing “critical stage” in the operation of South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. called in immediately members of the Medical Society to gather recommendations to beat concerns and challenges over COVID 19 specifically on high hospital occupancy rate. The team arrived solutions to further address efforts in South Cotabato.
“We need to iron out concerns in One Hospital Command so that transport of patients run smoothly,” the governor said.
The team arrived certain solutions as of now.
Tamayo agreed that infirmary hospitals like in Polomolok and Suralah will serve as isolation facility for COVID patients. However, the Provincial Hospital will cater high risks patients.
“The team recommended the use of isolation facilities of every local government units to lessen the influx of COVID-related patients at the provincial hospital,” he said.
The governor immediately went to the South Cotabato General Hospital in Suralah to evaluate concerns. The province will use the hospital as one of the isolation facilities in the province as the Department of Health ruled out.
Gov. Tamayo is set to call back the members of the provincial team and the members of the medical society this week to finalize the efforts and strategies to fight possible hospital operation breakdown because of the upcoming omicron surge.
“We are looking into the rise in COVID cases during the second week of February,” Tamayo added the longer the peak time, the higher the number of COVID-related patients.
