Koronadal City—As the sole province in the entire Philippines that continues to recognize “Most Oustanding Model Family,” the Provincial Government of South Cotabato awarded plaque of recognition to the model families of Lake Sebu (regular category) and the City of Koronadal (Indigenous People category) in a recently awarding ceremony.
The Pama Family of Lake Sebu bagged this year’s Outstanding Model Family in a regular category. The family received a plaque of recognition and cash prize of P20, 000.
“The Lord is the center of our family. With Him, nothing is impossible,” Pama couple said.
Other top winners are the Solidarios Family of Norala, who received P15, 000 cash prize; and the Aceral Family of Suralah, who also received P10, 000 cash prize. Both families received a plaque of recognition from the Provincial Government of South Cotabato.
Meanwhile, in time for the Indigenous People’s celebration, the awarding of the 2019 ost Oustanding Model Families for IP category was the highlight of the yearly provincial gathering of IPs in South Cotabato.
The Tony family of the City of Koronadal is this year’s Model Family for IP category. The family of Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Senorita Tony received P20, 000 cash prize and a plaque of recognition.
Other top winners are the Untang family of Lake Sebu and Doc Family of Tampakan. The former received P15, 000 cash prize while the Doc family has P10, 000 cash prize.
Zenaida Duron, Provincial Population Officer, expressed her thanks to the model families who have shared their stories of raising family.
“Despite the struggle and the hardship of ensuring quality life for our children, here you are opening your doors to us so that we can learn how you value your family,” Duron said.
The criteria for choosing the Most Oustanding Model family is focus on the quality of relationship between and among husband, wife and children (25%), Quality of Persons (25%), Ability to manage resources (20%), Involvolvement in Community Development activities (20%) and Quality of Conditions at Home (10%).
