South Cotabato’s eco-cultural capital and prime tourist destination, the cool and pristine town of Lake Sebu is the top tourist destination for the month of May this year, the Arts, Culture. Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit disclosed
Lake Sebu which is a consistent topnotcher since the start of the year registered 76,784 same day guests and tourists. It boasts of its 7-Falls, zipline, lake cruise, t’nalak weaving, bead-making, brass casting, cultural immersion and mouth-watering tilapia delicacies, among others.
Placing second is Tupi, famous for the majestic Mt. Matutum, Matutum Bloom, SG Farm, Magsangyaw Peak, Linan Tarsier Sanctuary,etc. with 17,796.
Banga dubbed as Resort Capital of South Cotabato placed third with 13,696. It was also previously recognized as corn capital of the provinc due to its tbountiful and surplus corn harvest annually.
Visitor arrival record for May of other municipalities are as follows: City of Koronadal – 5,560, Polomolok – 166, Sto. Nino –777, Surallah – 12,906,Tampakan – 1,749, T’boli – 3,404.
The total visitor arrival for the month of May is 132,788.
