Local Government Units (LGUs) underwent Tourism Awareness for Local Policy Makers and Stakeholders Seminar spearheaded by the Tourism Research, Planning and Product Development Section – Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit.
Tourism Operations Officer Anna Liza Mondejar, Section Chief disclosed that “tourism awareness is an initiative of ACTM Unit to orovide lnsights to local oolicy makers and tourism stakeholders of the province on the impacts of tourism in our community so that in effect, they may take into consideration important strategies and mechanism for their tourism sector.”
“It is expected that this initiative will enhance the awareness of local tourism stakeholders,” Mondejar added.
For 2023, ACTM conducted said training for the towns of Banga and Tantangan which have new sets of elected officials.Polomolok and Sto. Nino, which also have new set of officials, may undergo the same seminar, ACTM revealed,
Participants jn the seminar include the Mayor, Sangguniang Bayan Members and Barangay Chairman (for elected officials), Tourism Officers/Coordinator, Municipal Tourism Counncil Officers and Local Stakeholders.
