Mining, Quarry Tax first quarter collection now over P 4.6-M

South Cotabato’s Sand, Gravel and Mining (SGM) tax collection from January to March this year has now reached P4,650,293.15, the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) reported.

The SGM tax collection generated P1,791,374.15 as share of the provincial government for the first quarter of the year.

Based from previous PEMO reports, SGM tax collections showed a steady increase as January totaled P1,027,780.00 and P1,211,150.00 on February, with the current March collection of P 1,764,950.00.

Likewise, Provincial Imposition for the first quarter showed a steady increase as reported by PEMO.

Provincial Imposition include Sand and Gravel, Mining Tax, Small Scale Mining Fee, Ore Transport Fee, Occupational Mining Tax, Verification Fee (Sand and Gravel), Filing Fee, Governor’s Permit Fee, Processing Fee, Fines/Penalties/Surcharges, Miscellaneous/Delivery Receipts and imposition based on PD1856.

PEMO reported an SGM Tax Collection of more than P18.7 million in 2016, the highest in 10 years, with a total provincial share of more than P7.5 million.
