CITY OF KORONADAL — Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of the South Cotabato Rehabilitation and Detention Center (SCRDC) will showcase their finished products for selling during the Product Selling Activity of the National Tourism Month (NTM) celebration which will be held at the 4th Floor, Cinema Lobby, KCC Mall here from September 15 –30.
Products lined up for selling include their famous coin bank (alkansiya), picture frames especially The Last Supper, furniture and beadworks. PDLs are likewise preparing Christmas lantern or Patrol in preparation for the Yuletide season this December.
“Suportahon naton ang mga produkto nga himu sa SCRDC, South Cotabato, Angat Ka Sa Lahat,” the PDLs loudly announced during their video interview conducted by the PGO – Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) today August 24 at the SCRDC working area.
Inmates in the working area re-echoed the same sentiment, citing that the income generated during the 16-day activity will be of big help financially to inmates and their families.
The SCRDC has one (1) 3-meter x 3-meter booth allotted by organizers plus 11 for the participating LGUs during the product selling activity and will be attended by one (1) SCRDC employee in the duration of the 16-day event.
SCRDC has a total inmate population of 1,446 male and 78 female inmates.
