The South Cotabato Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council prepares various activities in celebration of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week celebration on November 14-20, 2021.
Amid the pandemic, the celebration will push through starting on November 15, Monday with the Mental Health Forum featuring resource persons from the academe, the Department of Education, and the health department.
With the negative effects the pandemic has brought in our lives which affects our youth, there is a need to further their understanding about what is happening in our surroundings and how to cope with it.
The council also launched “Tiktok challenged” to the youth for them to be able to get away from boredom and win prizes.
There are also lectures and training to be conducted to enhance the capabilities of partner agencies.
The culmination activity is set for November 19, 2021, which will give recognition to the different partner agencies who have shown exemplary performances despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic.
A press conference is also scheduled during the said date to maximize the information dissemination together with the members of the South Cotabato Capitol Press Corps.
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124, dated November 26, 2001. DAPC week is celebrated every November of every year.
Spearheaded by the Dangerous Drugs Board, all Local Government Units, Anti Drug Abuse Councils, Non-Government Organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders are enjoined to initiate activities and participate in the celebration,
The activity aims to promote public awareness against the evil effects of illegal drug use as well as public cooperation in the government’s anti-drug campaign.
This year’s theme is: “Share facts on Drugs, Save Lives” with its sub-theme as “Celebrating Drug-Free Filipino Communities: Thriving through the Pandemic.”
