PAMB-AVPL checkpoint launched in T’boli town

The Protected Area Management Board – Allah Valley Protected Landscape (PAMB-AVPL) recently launched its PAMB-AVPL Checkpoint located at Brgy. New Dumangas, T’boli.

Protected Area Superintendent (PASu) Leonisa Alfaro disclosed in her message during the launching ceremony that the location of the checkpoint is strategic in its drive against rampant illegal activities in the area, particularly illegal logging and “slash and burn” charcoal-making activity.

The checkpoint is situated before the New Dumangas Bridge where all means of transportation passed through going to the town’s poblacion.

New Dumangas Brgy. Captain Dante Tidula extended his thanks PAMB for the establishment of the checkpoint, which he said was planned a long time ago and is now realized.

He expressed his full support and optimism about the implementation of anti-illegal activities by the concerned agencies.

Deputy Governor Dardanilo Dar, representing Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes, committed support to PAMB particularly on the aspect of infrastructure needs of the checkpoint.

At present, the checkpoint consisted only of a single fenced structure manned by elements of 27th IB, PA and CAFGUs.

He likewise reiterated the call for an end to all illegal logging activities and requested DENR to recall all logging/cutting permits in the area.

Lake Sebu Mayor Antonio Fungan, Forester Ali Hadjinasser, PENRO Mama Samaon, PEMO –OIC Siegfred Flaviano, representatives of T’boli LGU and PNP, members of PAMB and other stakeholders attended the launching.

Prior to the launching, a blessing was conducted at the site of the checkpoint.
