PEMO collects 900k mining, quarry taxes for Jan ‘14

The mining and quarry tax collection of the province amounted to P931,908.70 for the month of January this year, in a report submitted by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office to the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) recently.

 

Breakdown of the collection as per PEMO report showed, Mining Tax – P146,000.00; Sand and Gravel – P523,133.70; Other Fees and Service Charges – P 237,775.00; Filing Fee – P4,760.00; Verification/Inspection Fee – P156,800.00; Processing Fee – P1,740.00; Ore Transport Permit Fee – P5,500.00; Governor’s Permit Fee – P53,600.00; Miscellaneous Fees – P15,376.00; Penalties and Surcharges – P25,000.00.

 

Out of the total January 2014 collection, P463,515.11 is the province’s share, the report indicated.

 

The total mining and quarry collection of the province for 2012 totaled P12,151,254.72, showing a monthly average of at least P 1 million, with a share of P4,534,006.82.

 

Meanwhile, the Mines & Geo-Sciences Division (MGD) of PEMO has a new head in the person of Abdula “Bong” Bansuan, former Project Manager of the Allah Valley Landscape Development Alliance (AVLDA).

 

Bansuan will bring his expertise as former AVLDA chief to implement PEMO’s different programs, projects and activities under said division.

 

MGD has now implemented computerization in small-scale mining operations, Miners ID system and conducted different trainings among miners and other stakeholders.
