Koronadal City—COVID- 19 booster vaccines are readily available in South Cotabato, Provincial Immunization Program Coordinator Faith Arizaleta confirmed in an interview recently.
“Booster shots made by Pfizer, Moderna, and Pfizer kids are ready for South Cotabatenos,” Arizaleta said.
The booster helps people maintain strong protection from severe coronavirus disease, Arizaleta explained.
“We are encouraging parents to bring their children to vaccination sites to get booster doses since the opening of classes is fast approaching,” she said.
The Immunization Program record showed that in South Cotabato, at least 800,000 people are fully-vaccinated. However, only 59,772 received booster shots.
Hannah Catedral, Health Education Promotions Officer, said Resbakuna transitioned to PinasLakas as the Booster Vaccine Campaign of the Department of Health (DOH).
“It aims to increase the number of Filipinos with COVID-19 booster shot to help maintain the country’s wall of immunity,” Catedral stressed.
“Our booster vaccines are free and safe,” she added.
In the next 100 days, South Cotabato strives to give COVID booster shots to five years old and above.
