The recently-concluded Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City on September 1 – 3 generated a sales record of P 140,175,364.30, a senior PTM official disclosed.
Cesar Cruz, PTM Director-General disclosed that the sales generated was the cumulative income reported by the participants of the 3-day travel mart such as Accommodation Establishments (AEs), Tour Operators, Transportation Providers and Theme Parks as part of their Sale ng Bayan.
Topping them all is La Carmela de Boracay Resort Hotel under the AEs category, which earned more than P57 million in “book and buy “sales.
Other top grossers are Asiatravel.com, Inc. (Tour Operators) with more than P8 million in sales, Magnum Air-Sky Jet, Inc. (Transportation) with more than P8 million in sales and Enchanted Kingdom (Theme Parks) with more than P6 million in sales.
Aside from sales performers, PTM likewise awarded the Best Booth that was won by Movenpick Hotel Resort and Spa Boracay, Inc (Corporate Category), Tacloban City (Cities & Municipalities Category), Palawan (Province Category), SOCCSKSARGEN (Region Category) and DOT 5 Gayon Bicol (People’s Choice Award).
Cruz said that aside from sales, the exchange of ideas among the participants are equally important, citing a school in Batangas which after performing a T’boli dance during the cultural dance contest, visited the SOX Pavilion to experience first-hand how a blue-blooded T’boli performed their dances and chanting.
PTM 2018 is slated September 14 – 16 and still at the same venue, according to Cruz.
