Prov’l Gov’t approves re-opening of Communal Quarry Site

CITY OF KORONADAL — A closed but existing communal quarry site located in Taplan Rover, this city, was re-opened by the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB) in a resolution it penned dated August 9 this year.

Ordered re-opened after request from permittees is the New Pangasinan – Concepcion Communal Quarry Operation, which is an extension of the Taplan River Communal Site located here at Barangays New Pangasinan and Concepcion.

PMRB recommended the re-opening after its Technical Working Group (TWG) conducted an assessment and verification to determine if the said area was already replenished with quarry materials and has the capacity to supply the required volume due to the high demand of quarry materials.

With the positive findings of the TWG, PMRB recommended the approval of the request with recommendation that the volume of 42,000 cubic meters shall be divided among the six (6) permittees, namely; Happy Living Realty & Development Corporation, Edwin Bonilla, Arnold Garcia, Gabriel Dizon, Erlinda Aranez and Emeita Llandino.

PMRB likewise ordered the quarry operators to automatically stopped from its quarry upon exhaustion of the approved volume capacity subject to verification, assessment and submission of initial environmental examination and accomplishment report of Social Development Program amounting to P94,500.00.

Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes, DENR-MGB 12 Regional Director Constancio Paje Jr., PMRB Chairperson, and Provincial Environment Management Officer Siegfred Flaviano signed the order.
