KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- The Provincial Veterinary Office continues its effort for rabies vaccination program across the province as the number of dog bites increase.
According to the record of Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) there are 31 sample heads submitted for laboratory test and it came out that out of this number 18 are positive for rabies.
As of the first quarter this year, there are 18,529 heads of dog was vaccinated with 5,830; Polomolok, 1,844; Tupi, 4,733; Banga, 3,220; Surallah, 2,154; Sto. Niño, and 376; T’boli. Other municipalities are still ongoing its vaccination provided that minimum health protocols are strictly observed.
Furthermore, as part of the Information Education Campaign (IEC), there is ongoing routed-audio recorded or “recorida” dubbed as “Recorida sa Barangay Kontra Rabies at ASF”.
This campaign is intended to keep our province safe against the threat of Rabies and African Swine Fever (ASF) and to provide proper information. This month the Provincial Veterinary Office has reached 15 barangays for the said IEC.
