Routine immunizations continue despite pandemic

Routine immunizations among 0 – 12 months old will still continue despite the global Corona Virus Disease or CoViD-19 nationwide, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) reported during the recent Kapihan sa Kapitolyo media forum sponsored by the PGO-Information Division.

National Immunization Program Manager Genesis Navales, RN of IPHO disclosed that immunizations such as  polio, measles and pentavalent vaccines are regularly administered to 0 – 12 months by local health authorities.

Navales added that parents, guardians or relatives may seek vaccination every Wednesday at the nearest Barangay Health Stations (BHS) in their area to avail of said service.

Asie from immunization, pregnant mothers can also avail pre-natal and other family planning services. Tele-medicine consultation, Navales further added, which are likewise routine health services are also available  for the general public.

Tele-medicine or consultation through online among doctors and patients are now the adopted standard medical practice unlike the traditional face-to-face consultation due to the on-going pandemic to avoid CoViD-19 virus infection.
