Search for Model Schools in SWM Update … Evaluators conduct consolidation of initial results

Consolidation of results of the initial evaluation of the Search for Model Schools In Solid Waste Management that was held from August 1 – 10 province-wide was conducted recently by the team of evaluators.

The evaluators are composed of representatives of PEMO, PIO, DENR 12, DILG Provincial Office, DepEd South Cotabato and Koronadal City Divisions and South Cotabato Foundation, Inc.

Based from the revised criteria, mechanics and guidelines of the contest, schools were only evaluated of their SWM Action Plan (60%), ESWM Organizational Structure (15%), SWM Policies (15%) and Presentation (10%) as part of the initial evaluation which has a weighted percentage of 25%.

Participating schools in the search were Colongulo National High School and Talahik Elementary School in Surallah, Marbel 7 National High School and Marbel 1 Central Elementary School in Koronadal City, Sto. Nino National High School and Guinsang-an Elementary School in Sto. Nino, New Dumangas National High School and Lugan Central Elementary School in T’boli, Poblacion Polomolok National High School and Polomolok Central Elementary School in Polomolok, Banga National High School and Banga Central Elementary School in Banga, Dumadalig Integrated School and New Iloilo Elementary School in Tantangan, Liberty National High School and Tampakan Central Elementary School in Tampakan and Cebuano National High School and Belaza Castromayor Community Elementary School in Tupi.
Lake Sebu National High School in Lake Sebu and Norala National High School in Norala joined without an elementary school partner.

Cash incentives await the top ten (10) winners and also winners in the Special Award category while consolation prizes will be given also to non-winners.

The final evaluation which has a weighted percentage of 75% will be conducted on the first week of October.

Awarding of winners will be on November this year which coincided with the celebrations of Environmental Awareness Month, Clean Air Month and Climate Change Consciousness Week.
