Tourists visiting the province of South Cotabato reached 130,813 in 2013, the Provincial Tourism Office disclosed recently.
Tourism Officer Anna Liza Mondejar said that the province’s last year visitors accounted to 130,505 domestic tourists while foreign tourists numbered 308.
“The figures showed a great leap in tourists’ arrival in the province with only 105,874 domestic tourists registered in 2012 compared to last year’s total figure,” Mondejar added.
But the foreign tourist arrival showed a slight slump from 584 in 2012 to 308 last year, the reported indicated.
Of the total number of tourists recorded, it has produced 130,813 total guest nights.
In 2012, 106,458 total guest nights only were produced out of the 106,458 foreign and domestic visitors that visited the province.
One guest night is, as defined by tourism standard, is equivalent to one overnight stay in any tourist preferred choice of Accommodation Establishment (AE).
Mondejar further added that the statistics was based from reports of AEs province-wide that were submitted to their office.
