South Cotabato tourist arrivals for the period January to June 2022 now reached 942,646, the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit reported,
Richie Matunding, ACTM Tourist Data Management In-Charge disclosed that the tourist arrival is classified as either “Same Day” tourist or commonly called “excursionist” and “Tourist” or “Guest Night” (which means a tourist stayed overnight in an Accommodation Establishment for at least one night).
It is further classified as either domestic (local) or foreign tourists that visited the province for the said period, Matunding added.
ACTM recorded June as the highest in visitor arrival at 177,691 followed by March with 172,450, May with 155,719, April – 153,605, January – 145,005 and February – 138,136.
The summer or hot months of the year which iusually runs from March to June is the favorite period of tourists particularly domestic visitors who want to enjoy the pristine beauty and cool breeze especially of Lake Sebu, the province summer and eco-cultural destination which is also famous for its tilapia delicacy.
