South Cotabato, Koronadal City- Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. and Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar had a meeting last few weeks ago to talk about the projects in South Cotabato and the alarming cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the Philippines.
In order to plug supply shortfall and to bring down prices of pork and other products in Metro Manila, South Cotabato allotted 2,000 live hogs with the help of Biotech Farms in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-12.
DA-12 Regional Executive Director Arlan Mangelen witnessed the trasportation of hogs from Tambler, Gen. Santos City to Metro Manila.
As part of Sec. William Dar ‘s “One DA” holistic approach key strategic initiatives, the DA shouldered the logistic support of the said shipment.
