South Cotabato aspires highest nutrition award

Koronadal City–The national evaluating team wrapped up the annual evaluation in South Cotabato as the province bids for the National Honor  Award.

Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes, who attended the feedbacking activity despite the local election campaign, said the suggestions were welcome innovations for fourth-time Galing Pook Awardee.

“The annual evaluation for any of the programs of the government serve as a wake-up call for us to evaluate and assess if we were in the right track in governing our province,” Fuentes said during the feedbacking activity with the national evaluators.

The governor stressed out the nutrition program supports the development and growth of the future generation.

“This is the responsibility of the local government. The government should take care of the children. They are our legacy. They should be healthy,” Fuentes explained.

The nutrition program of South Cotabato is a Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) holder for many years but, the province aspires to get the highest nutrition award.

In region 12, NNC produced two NHA awardees—Malungon in Sarangani Province and the City of Koronadal.

“We wish to be in the list,” Fuentes said.
