South Cotabato cites MSMEs during 2016 T’nalak Festival

CITY OF KORONADAL — Five (5) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) were cited by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato during the Anniversary Luncheon of the 2016 T’nalak Festival held at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center last July 18, this city, which also coincided with the 50th Golden Foundation Anniversary of the province.

These home-grown entrepreneurs were recognized for their achievements as well as the best practices that they showcased in their respective field of business.

Leading the awardees is FK House of Cashews based in Polomolok owned by Lorna Grace Fuentespina as Most Outstanding Small Enterprise.

BKR Food Products, also located in Polomolok and managed and owned by Davin Ortiz and Rona Ortiz, respectively, was adjudged Most Outstanding Micro-Entrepreneur.

Cash incentive of P15,000.00 and a Plaque of Recognition wre received each by the awardees. A Small Enterprise is categorized for having an asset size from P 3 – 15 million while a Micro-Enterprise has an asset size of less than P 3 million.

Two (2) other finalists in the Micro-Enterprise Category, Alice Food Products and Danlag Women’s Association, were likewise given a Plaque of Recognition each and received by Alicia Bayoneta Aguipo and Virgie Basan, respectively.

Meanwhile, Polomolok Multi-Purpose Cooperative, managed by Ma. Teresa Balmores also received A Plaque of Recognition for Outstanding Corporate Social responsibility.

MSMEs were judged based on the following criteria: Average Growth in Employment in the last 3 years – 10%; Average Growth in Sales in the last 3 years – 20%; Average Growth in Investment in the last 3 years – 10%; Best Practices (Operations, Finance and Management) – 20%; Human Resource Development/Compliance to Labor Standards/Labor Practices – 15%; Initiatives including Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Relations and Green Projects – 15%; Awards/Citations/Recognitions Received – 10%.

Representatives from the regional offices of the Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Science and Technology and South Cotabato Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., one of the prestigious business organizations in the [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][province, composed the Board of Judges.

Vice-Governor Vicente de Jesus, Board Member Ester Marin Catorce and 206 Regional Expo Chairman Emmanuel Jumilla led the awarding of winners.
