Preparatioms are now underway for the holding of the South Cotabato Ecology Day scheduled on November 18 with series of activities lined up for the whole day together with different partner agencies and organizations.
SEMS Elbe Balucanag, PEMO-EMD chief and Clean and Green Technical Working Group (TWG) Head disclosed that the planned activities include a symposium, Quiz Bee (in which questions will be taken from lectures in the symposium) and will be participated by representatives of the 55 winning barangays of the Clean and Green Contest, and awarding of certificates to environment partners and likewise, awarding of cash incentives to the winners of the Clean and Green Contest and Best in Community Garden.
The top 5 winners per LGU of the Clean and Green Contest will receive P100,000 (First Prize), P50,000 (Second Prize), P35,000 (Third Prize), P20,000 (Fourth Day) and P13,400 (Fifth Prize). Meanwhile, 3 winners with a cash peize of P20,000 each will be awarded the Best Community Garden that will be sponsored by Dole Philipprnes.
A final TWG Meeting is set on October 25 to finalize the Ecology Day Program on November 18.
The month of November is celebrated as Clean Air Moth, Environmental Awareness Month and Climate Change Consciousness Week.
