South Cotabato Family Rondalla wins Musikahan Festival

South Cotabato made waves again in the field of  musical competition when its in-house rondalla, the South CotabatoFamily  Rondalla won first prize in the rondalla category of the Musikahan Festival held recewntly in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

The 20-member rondalla under the baton of conductor Charles Dumdum, bested 7 other rondalla groups coming from different towna in Luzon and Mindanao. For their feat, the rondalla received P150,000 cash prize.

Likewise, Janrell Aliyah Lamzon , a South Cotabatena singer won first prize in the vocal solo contest with the rondalla as the accompanying band. She received P10,000 cash incentive.

Aside from Rondalla and vocal solo contwat, the Musikahan Festival also have Chorale, Battleof the Bands and Music Video contests.

The South Cotabato Rondalla was formed to become Ambassafors of Goodwill of the province.
