Angela Frugalidad, Nutrition Officer III, said the recent launching of the BATAK program is part of the P500,000 vitamin and food supplementation program of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
The nutrition Unit allocated P200, 000 for this activity. It aims to ensure that the infant or baby inside the mother’s womb receives proper nutrition. This program targets 100 identified pregnant mothers all over the province.
Meanwhile, Sagop Bata Program is a supplementary feeding and vitamin supplementation program for preschool children ages 6-59 months old. Primary beneficiaries are undernourished children identified during Operation Timbang conducted by barangay nutrition scholars every first quarter of the year.
“The program extended supplementary feeding to 250 undernourished children all over the province,” Frugalidad said.
