Koronadal City—Security measures are laid down as Tnalak Festival formally opens tomorrow, the Incident Management Team confirmed.
Rolly Doane Aquino, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer-In-Charge, said all measures to control and protect the public are activated.
“Security plan and medic posts are in place,” Aquino stressed.
The IMT is composed of the forces from the National Police, Philippine Army, Special Forces, Provincial Government Services Office, Interior and Local Government, Bureau of Fire, PDRR, and Philippine Red Cross.
“Always wear your face masks because our fight against COVID-19 is not yet over,” he said.
On the other hand, Eleoterio Nodado, Provincial Security Unit Chief, ordered his team to be on alert and respectful at all times, especially during an inspection.
“Car passes will be limited and given to specific organizations and individuals,” he said.
Felix Marquez, PSU Operations head, said that there are 70 PSU personnel augmented to the original number of security personnel of the Provincial Capitol.
“All the entrances and exits in every event during the Tnalak Festival are open to lessen possibilities of a stampede,” Marquez emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Police Office said the approved complete security and deployment plan is being implemented weeks before the soft opening of the festival.
Police Capt. Renjun Bagaman said that the security plan ensures that all festival venues have evacuation sites and parking areas.
“PNP will use K-9 dogs and check the venues daily,” Bagaman added.
The IMT asked the public to forgo bringing backpacks.
