South Cotabato to benefit from P367-M CMGP projects

South Cotabato will be the recipient of eight (8) road projects this year from the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) with an estimated project cost of P366,926,330.00, a senior official from the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) disclosed.

Provincial Engineer Marnilo Aperocho said during the weekly Kapehan sa Kapitolyo media forum hosted by the Provincial Information Office that CMGP or formerly known as KALSADA Project, consists of road upgrading in different municipalities of the province.

“More than 33 kilometers of road upgrading will be made in Polomolok and Tampakan towns in the first district and Banga, Sto. Nino, Surallah and T’boli towns in the second district as recipients of the project grant,” Engr. Aperocho explained to reporters.

The list of projects enumerated by Aperocho are the following: Upgrading of Crossing Talcon-Aflek Road (2.5 kms-P27,500,000.00); Upgrading of Crossing Aflek-Malugong Road (1.5 kms-P16,500,000.00); Upgrading of Maltana-Lambayong Road (5 kms-P55,000,000.00); Upgrading of National Highway Silway 8 – Silway 7 Road (3.6 kms-P39,600,000.00); Upgrading of Klinan 6 – Cannery Road (5.9 kms-P64,900,000.00); Upgrading of National Highway Junction – M. Roxas – Poblacion Sto, Nino Road (5 kms-P55,000,000.00); Upgrading of Banga – Lambayong – Lampari Road (6 kms-P66,000,000.00); Upgrading of National Highway Junction – Collongulo – Moloy- Duengas Road (4.24 kms-P42,426,330.00).

Aside from CMGP, the province has been a recipient of the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP) projects and Food Security Program (FSP) projects from the Department of Agriculture.
