SouthCot delivers assistance to the affected families due to strong winds

KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) continues in delivering assistance to the affected residents due to strong winds.

Rolly Doane Aquino, acting head of PDRRMO, said several barangays in six (6) municipalities have reported destructions as of May 7, 2021, Friday afternoon due to weather disturbance that occurred around 2 pm to 3 pm.

Said weather disturbance also affected other parts of the province, damaging nearly 150 houses, various structures, properties, and crops.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. mandated the said department to immediately prepare food packs and deliver to the affected family and provide assessment to help them recover from the devastation.

“Base sa mandato sang aton Gobernador Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. nga ipaabot gid ang bulig sang gobyerno probensiyal paagi sa PDRRMO in particular sa mga relief packs nga ihatag sa pamilya.” OIC-PDRRMO Aquino said in the provincial government’s radio program “PDRRMO Hour”.

As of May 14, 2021, the total affected families based on the submitted reports of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) with 9; Banga, 292; Lake Sebu, 450; Tupi, 16; Polomolok, and 97; T’boli.

Furthermore, aside from the assistance given to the affected families the PDRRMO also give food packs to residents who are undergoing home quarantine due to covid-19.

Total food packs delivered is 621 and still continues as of this writing. Expected assistance will also be deliver to the Municipality of Polomolok and T’boli.
