SouthCot PNP assures security preparedness during T’nalak Fest

Koronadal City – The South Cotabato Police Provincial Police headed by Provincial Director P/SSupt. Jose Armaldo Briones assured the public especially visitors that the police together with other security units are prepared to provide security during the 15th T’nalak Festival and 48th Foundation Anniversary of the province from July 9 to July 18, 2014. .

During the final press conference of the T’nalak Festival, P/SSupt.. Briones disclosed that based on their security plan, they have deployed 313 police officers on 24-hour duty, particularly on the venues of the different activities during the 10-day long celebration.

“We are in close coordination with the military, the provincial security unit and force multipliers such as the BPATs with regard to their deployment from day 1 up to the last day of the T’nalak,” PD Briones added.

During the presscon, P/CInsp. Rolito Pidlaoan, Operations Chief, presented the PNP security plan to Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes, Festival Over-all Honorary Chair, Board Member Vicente de Jesus, Festival Executive Director and members of the media.

Police Assistance Centers, C/Insp. Pidlaoan said, will be scattered along Alunan Avenue, this city, which is the center of activity to provide police visibility and assistance to the public.

Romeo Rufino, Provincial Security Unit chief, likewise assured the media that their office have deployed more than a hundred security personnel, especially in PROTECH Center, provincial capitol, South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center, South Cotabato Sports complex, which are properties of the province and venues of the major activities.

“Security threat is always present in our province but I assure the public that we (PNP) are always prepared to counter it,” PD Briones further added.

The public is discouraged to bring along back-packs so as not to delay their entrance and exit to the venues or sites of the Festival by the security officers.
