SPA students, tutors undergo Film Documentary Training

and teachers under the Special Program for the  Arts (SPA) of the Department of Education (DepED) South Cotabato Division underwent a 3-day webinar entitled  “Sinedokyu” Mobile Documentary Season 2 via Zoom Application in celebration of the National Heritage Month this month of May.

            Reden Ulo Ulo, cultural worker and President of Lake Sebu Culture and Arts Council started the training-workshop/competition last May 16 with a lecture entitled “Cultural Asset of the Tboli Culture,” while Rodel Gentapa, also a cultural worker and teacher from Tampakan National High School of Tampakan town talked about the “Cultural Asset of Blaan Culture and Integration of Culture-based Education” the next day (May 17).

The last day of the training-workshop (May 18) likewise focused on the participating students respective proposed film production entry which will be judged on May 28 and the awarding will be on May 30 during the Monday Convocation Progrsm

Winners will receive P5,000, P4,000 and P2,000, respectively, for the first, second and third prize winners. Criteria of the contest are as follows; Historical Quality – 60%; Relation to the Theme – 20% and Quality of Presentation – 20%.

Meanwhile, a Seminar via Zoom Application on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with Jessel Cofleros of IPR Office Region 12 based in General Santos City as Resource Speaker was also conducted in the morning of May 17.

Participants of the IPR webinar are members of the South Cotabato Culture and Arts Council (SCCAC) composed of Culture and Arts Coordinators, Tourism Officers, PGO-ACTM, PIO, PPDO and PBO personnel.
