Sto. Niño NHS wins Hall of Fame award as Best BKD implementer nationwide

STO.NIÑO, South Cotabato – Sto. Niño National High School won the most coveted prize this year as the first placer for the nationwide Search for  Outstanding  Barkada Kontra Droga Implementers in the Secondary School, making it a Hall of Fame awardee for three consecutive years, since  2015-2016, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019  respectively.

Amid this pandemic, SNNHS  has shown significant contributions through various activities initiated and participated fully implement Barkada Kontra Droga.

Principal Stephen Salazar expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who have contributed to the success of the search.

During the online evaluation conducted in September, all sectors were present to give support to the activity.

“We were challenged with the circumstances but we emerged above this crisis,” Salazar said,

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) chaired by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. congratulates the SNNHS for another milestone it has achieved.

BKD SNNHS being a member of the PADAC is supported by the council through the provision of necessary logistical needs.

No less than  DepEd 12 Regional Director Alan G. Farnazao,  Provincial Administrator  Atty. Renette B.Bergado and Mayor Sulpicio F. Villalobos were among the top officials who faced the team of national evaluators during the national online evaluation.

Other participants also include several youth leaders, school officials, local government officials, and other stakeholders of the BKD program.

Barkada Kontra Droga is a peer group organized to provide and support school activities that promote awareness and intervention to drug abuse and its related issues. This group also supports the projects of the community and its local government with the same objective. This organization is supported by the students, teachers, school administrators, barangay council, local government unit, private institutions, and other identified stakeholders.

In a letter received from the DepEd Central office early this week, the winning school will be recognized through a memorandum, and;  it will receive a cash prize and a Plaque of Appreciation.
