Surallah is 2017 Cleanest & Greenest LGU

The municipality of Surallah was adjudged winner of the 2017 Search for the Cleanest and Greenest Local Government Unit besting the remaining lone city and nine (9) municipalities of the province.

Surallah received a cash incentive of Php800,000.00 plus plaque of recognition during the awarding ceremony held last July 13, the opening of the 18th T’nalak Festival and 51st Foundation Anniversary of South Cotabato.

Aside from the grand prize, Surallah was also recipient of numerous awards; 2nd Place, Best Barangay (Lamsugod) – P20,000.00; Best Community Garden (Lamsugod) – P20,000.00; Best Backyard Garden (Erlinda de Jesus) – P10,000.00; Best Municipal Nursery – P30,000.00; Best Roadside – P30,000.00.

Likewise, Certificates of Recognition were also given to Surallah as Best Public Terminal, Best Support System, Best in 10-Year SWM Plan Implementation and Best in Comprehensive 10-Year Clean & Green Program Presentation.

Polomolok. 2016 Clean & Green winner, slid down to 2nd place with a cash incentive of Php500,000.00 and just like Surallah, won special awards as Best Public Market – P30,000.00, Best in Plaza and Park – P30,000.00, Best Central Material Recovery Facility – P30,000.00, 1st Place, Best Barangay (Silway 7) – P30,000.00 and Best Public Toilet – P10,000.00.

The other winners were 3rd place – Tupi (P300,000.00); 4th Place – Sto. Nino (P180,000.00) and also 3rd Place, Best Barangay (Guinsang-an) – (P10,000.00); 5th Place – Tampakan (P100,000.00); 6th Place – T’boli (P80,000.00).

Consolation Prize winners which received P40,000.00 each were Lake Sebu, Norala, Koronadal City, Banga and Tantangan.
