Surallah wins the 2019 search for outstanding municipal anti-drug abuse council

KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO- The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) chaired by Gov. Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. celebrates and spearheaded the formal opening and kick-off ceremony of Drug Abuse Prevention & Control (DAPC) Week with the theme: “Katarungan para sa Kalusugan; Kalusugan para sa Katarungan” held at EMR Convention Center, Koronadal City, earlier this week.

Police officers, individuals, students, teachers, and LGU’s are recognized for the efforts exerted to fight the battle against illegal drugs during the Search for Outstanding City/ Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

True to his words, Gov. Tamayo assures to the public especially the students present that once the free education for tertiary will be fully implemented for the school year 2020-2021, he will push for mandatory random drug testing of college students.

“Ang concern sa illegal na drogra ay hindi lang ito concern ng opisyal at ng iilan sa atin, kundi ito ay dapat pagkaisahan ng lahat ng miyembro sa komunidad.” Gov. Tamayo message during the kick-off ceremony of DAPC.

The LGU-Surallah (1st place) bags the P 500,000 cash prize and declared as the Outstanding Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council, 2nd Place: Municipality of Sto. Niño- 400k, 3rd Place: Municipality of Norala- 300k, 4th Place: Municipality of Tantangan- 200k, 5th Place: Municipality of Banga- 100k. Municipality of T’boli, Lake Sebu, Tampakan, Koronadal, Tupi, Polomolok received a consolation prize of P 50,000.
