“Tiangge sang Probinsiya on Wheels” helps affected local farmers and small business owners gain income amids pandemic

KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO- The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the initiative of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. come up with a program “Tiangge sang Probinsiya on Wheels” a local version of mobile palengke and a Food Security Program that encourage the residents to stay at home to lessen the transmission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This is in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Agriculture in the person of Ms. Justina Navarrete and Food Security Program Head Dr. Raul Teves.

In line with this, it aims to help the local farmers and small business owners to gain income due to the effect of covid-19 pandemic.

The program reached the municipalities’ province-wide with 3 barangays each as identified by the office of the municipal agriculture from April 17 to April 29, 2020.

The team are grateful for the success of the program and presents the summary of sales that includes vegetables, fruits, meat, egg, rice, spices and etc:

 Tampakan (Kipalbig, Maltana, and Lambayong): Php93,450.00
 Banga (San Jose, Rizal): Php138,500.00
 Polomolok (Glamang, Silway 7, and Klinan 6): Php114,065.00
 Lake Sebu (Lamlahak, Lamdalag, Klubi): Php133,218.00
 Sto. Niño (San Vicente, Panay, M. Roxas) Php93,705.00
 Tantangan (Bukaypait, Cabuling, Libas) Php156,156.00
 Norala (Dumagil, Kibid, Puti) Php144,480.00
 Surallah (Canahay, Buenavista, Tubi-allah) Php117,625.00

A total of Php991,199.00 sales of income that our farmers and small business owners gain from this program
