Some 14 Tourism Accommodation Establishments (AEs) are now back in business, the Arts, Culture, Tourism & Museum (ACTM) Promotions Unit confirmed in an official report they received from the Department of Tourism (DOTT) 12 recently.
ACTM Tourism Officer I Argie Ryan Asaria disclosed that the list of tourism AEs were issued by DOT Provisional Certificates of Authority to Operate in the province.
The DOT-issued provincial authority stipulates that in an area under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), its operation should be at a maximum of 50% operational capacity to accommodate all guests, whether for work or leisure,, except persons below 21 years old and who are 60 years old and above, and those with immunodeficiency and comorbidity, or other health risks.
Opening back businesses in the province is part of the economic re-start plan of Governor Reynaldo S.Tamayo Jr. as embodied in Executive Order #36, series of 2020.
The DOT 12 initiative is a big boost to the tourism industry especially for employees to regain back their regular job after they were temporarily displaced when the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was declared last March 21 and subsequently followed later by General Community Quarantine (GCQ) that caused the closure or non-operation of businesses.
But said AEs opened only their dine-in facilities at 50% capacity; accommodation is still closed and they only accept reservations as of the moment.
AEs now opened In Koronadal City were ACS Pension House, The Farm @ Carpenter Hill , MD Square Pension House, Villa Princessita, Paraiso Verde Hotel and Resort, La Mojica Suites, Mezza Hotel, Claricon Hotel, Eighty-Eight Hotel and Aqua Frio Garden Resort, Inc.
Other AEs now operating in the province Dolores Lake Resort, Punta Isla Lake Resort and Sunrise Garden Lake Resort, all in Lake Sebu, and Emily T. Pension House in Polomolok.
