Tourism Infra Projects on-going in South Cotabato

CITY OF KORONADAL — Touridm infrastructure projects are still on-going in South Cotabato, Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) Officer-in-Charge Engr. Frederick Soriano confirmed during the recent Kapihan sa Kapitolyo held at the Provincial Information Office here.

            Engr. Soriano disclosed that among infrastructure projects undertaken in 7-Falls in Lake Sebu town focused on road and parking area widening, expansion of waiting area, among others, due to the influx of more visitors visiting the tourist site  especially those coming from different provinces within the region.  

            The province’s tourism industry recovered fast despite the CoViD-19 pandemic  and is now back to pre-pandemic level according to the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum 42(ACTM) Unit with 5,601 visitor arrivals in the first quarter of 2022 versus 425.,777 for the same period last year.

          The ACTM Unit likewise proposed a number of projects in their 2023 Annual Investment Program (AIP) and among these are  Construction of Land of the Dreamweavers Welcome Archs (P23 million), Construction of Land of the Dreamweavers Signages (P20 million),  refurbishing and development of Lang Dulay Weaving Center and Center Site in Lamdalag , Lake Sebu  (P850,000) and refyrbishing and development of Fu Yabing Masalon Dulo Weaving Center and Center Site  at Sitio Anguo, Landan, Polomolok (P1.5 million) which is expected to be implemented next year.
